Jackson House: Helping Hot Springs Families in Crisis

Mardi Gras in the Spa exists for one big reason: to support our neighbors when life hits hard. That’s why we’re raising funds for The Eleanor Klugh Jackson House for Crisis Intervention—better known locally as Jackson House—an inclusive, interfaith community crisis center serving Garland County with short-term emergency help for basic needs.

What Jackson House Does

Jackson House provides practical, immediate assistance to individuals and families facing urgent circumstances. Their services include:

Emergency food support through a community food pantry (including baby food and formula in emergency cases)
Daily lunches served between noon and 1:00 p.m. (except Sundays)
Groceries, hygiene kits, clothing, and household items when available
Infant and toddler essentials, such as diapers, formula, bottles, clothing, and other necessities (as donations allow)
Support that helps clients connect with community resources and move forward with stability

Jackson House is not a residential facility—it’s a critical “help right now” resource for people who are trying to keep things from falling apart.

Why Supporting Jackson House Matters

Jackson House is a local safety net powered by neighbors helping neighbors. They describe themselves as a place where community spirit comes together to provide for men, women, and children in need—funded locally as a registered 501(c)(3) (donations are tax-deductible).

The impact is real and measurable. Jackson House reports that last year they served over 57,000 lunches, and 1,384 children received a bag full of Christmas gifts.

A Longstanding Hot Springs Mission

Jackson House traces its beginnings to 1978, when the closing of a local ministry program created a need for a new crisis-intervention service. The organization’s work has continued for decades thanks to donors and volunteers.
